The Madeleine School Open House The Madeleine School, with full-day kindergarten through 8th grade, invites you to join us for our Open House events. All are welcome! We are a faith-filled Catholic community committed to nurturing the growth of the whole child with weekly full-day kindergarten, before and after-school care, music, art, PE, middle school Spanish, daily hot lunch, four on-site learning support teachers, and an on-site counselor. Christmas is just around the corner! Before you know it, we’ll be in the New Year and you’ll be looking for a way to recycle your Christmas tree…. Look to Boy Scout Troop #107! They have two options for Christmas tree recycling fundraiser: #1: Drop-off: Saturday, December 30, 2017 Saturday & Sunday, January 6 & 7, 2018 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM at the NW Corner of Wilshire Park (NE Skidmore & 33rd Ave) #2: Curbside Pick-up: Saturday: January 6, 2018 • Please place tree at curb by 10:00 AM; • Place attach an envelope marked “TROOP 107” with cash or check, payable to BSA TROOP 107 in small plastic bag on the tree or on your front porch. Suggested Donation: $5 – $50 All proceeds benefit Troop activities for the entire year. (This is our only fundraiser.) Please remove all tinsel, metal, wire or nails; Flocked trees & wreaths are OK. Portland’s annual “Worst Day of the Year” bicycle ride is returning for the 17th year on Sunday, February 11th, 2018, and it we’ll see the participants roll through our neighborhood! Check out maps of the route, to see how it might affect road closures and traffic in your area, and to find out where to get views of the costumed cyclists. If you’re interested in participating, you can register here (kids 12 and under ride for free!).
